Daily Fashion Tip — More Fall Fashion Picks and How To Wear Them

admin | Daily Fashion Tip, Fashion | Saturday, 18 August 2007

We are going to talk some more about some basic staples. That is all you really need for a great fall wardrobe because you can mix and match and move these around with other things in your closet. A little fashion dollar goes a long way. Here are some more must-haves for this season.

ralphlaurencoat A great coat is a must-have for fall. I just adore this military inspired style coming from Ralph Lauren. All of his coats this year are very militious with sleek, tailored lines that you can go everyday, or dress up for a special function.

turtlenecks The turtleneck is a classic staple for any fall wardrobe. Turtlenecks are this year what leggings were last year, and now hey, why not wear them together. Why not go a little luxe and get cashmere. Not only will your turtleneck last longer, but it will look great with anything — jeans, tailored pants, skirts, minis (with tights), and so much more. This top will instantly pull your entire look together. And here you can get them super cheap on clearance at Sierra Trading Post for $39. Considering cash is generally going to run you in the triple digits, that?s a steal.

herringbone You want to have a few basic dresses in your fall wardrobe, I recommend them for any season. The reason I like dresses so much is that you don’t need to pull a whole outfit together, just decide which dress you like. I always say it is so much easier to accessorize than it is to put an outfit together. Dresses with flats are great for day, and dress them up with heels at night. Here you are looking at a pretty herringbone dress by Apt. 9, available at Kohl?s for $29.99.

accessories Ladylike is very big this fall, and we are talking old-school dress like a lady. Think gloves, scarves, and elegant bags. Again, it is easier to pull pieces such as this into an outfit such as a suit or a dress than to create an entire ensemble. Small details, but not too many, will make you look polished and pretty at the same time. Red lipstick is a great hit with a look like this as well. You want to think very flapper ’40s, vintage style is coming out in a hugely modern way. Take advantage of it and feel like the lady you are. The scarf here from Banana Republic for $48, and the bag is BCBG for $398.

jcrew As with any fall, blazers never go out of style. These also are a very quick way to pull an ensemble together. Your top underneath wants to be very simple and understated. You can go collared if you wish, or just a sleek line underneath will leave all the attention on the jacket details. This is a beautiful J. Crew piece that will never go out of style. Get it for $228 at J. Crew or look around your favorite shops. Blazers will be everywhere this year.

whitejeans Suprisingly enough, white jeans after Labor Day is going to be OK this time around. Keep them on the darker white shade, almost khaki, and that will be the shade of the year. These look fresh with a light turtleneck or a blazer, or even a long T-shirt if the temps allow for it. Here you are looking at a pair from John Varvatos for Converse, available at John Varvatos stores across the nation.
