    SATC 2 Fashion – Behind the Scenes With Carrie Bradshaw

    We will start the next series of SATC 2 fashion with your favorite fashionista, Carrie Bradshaw. It should be of no surprise to you that Sarah Jessica was very VERY hands on when it came to putting together her character’s look in each and every scene. For those of you that are not as obsessed with this show/movie series, SJP actually owns a portion of this show, and the movie of course, and so to discover that she is hands on is not at all a newsflash.

    Even though SJP DOES have a bevy of stylists and a budget to match her always amazing fashion, she does a lot of the picking on her own, even for big events, interviews, and the promo circuit. Though the two lead designers for costume for this movie were instrumental in creating a lot of her looks, she always had the final say. And Molly and Patty didn’t seem to mind, she made it very easy for them.

    “She would go through the racks and do Kiss or Kill,” says Rogers, explaining, “Like it and it stays or you kindly kill it. She’s a very fast edit. She can whittle down 20 racks in no time.”

    Rough life. Spotted here in a movie scene, Carrie is wearing a frock by Emilio Pucci, belted by Zac Posen, Chanel bag, and Rodarte cuff. (more…)

    More Style Secrets From the Set of SATC 2 – Fashion Sneek Peek Parte Trois.

    For those of you just tuning in, you can catch the first part of SATC 2 Fashion Sneek Peek right here, and Parte Deux here. Today we are going to watch the girls go retro for the flashback portion of the movie. Here is SJP channeling Flashdance which was the inspiration behind this look. For this look costume designer Molly Rogers raided her own 80’s archives in the closet, with the retro tote and the shoes being the biggest crunches when it came down to the final look.

    “All of us had plastic see-through bags. I got mine out of storage. But the biggest sticking point was the (flat!) shoes. I’m sure it was extremely difficult for Sarah (who worships the heels even in real life). We toyed with lots of different shoes, Doc Martens and things like that, but we thought it was classic Americana to be in a sneaker.”

    Converse it was. To complete the look, Jordache jeans and a sweatshirt by nobody special were the final picks. (more…)

    For those of you that AREN’T Sex and the City fans, and AREN’T counting down the days until the big premiere night…(for us lowlies it’s May 27th), then please write me and tell me what you want to see on the blog and I will do my best to squeeze it in. If I don’t hear from ya though, be warned that we will be pumping up the SATC fashion scene LARGE this week. I can’t get enough of it, and feel selfish keeping my finds to myself. So while I will try and squeeze in beauty tips or other celeb spotting, my vision is akin to that of a tunnel in the fashion world right now.

    Today I got wind of the ladies at the BIG (VIP Only) Sex and the City 2 premiere at Radio City Musical Hall in New York last night. And to say they pulled out all the stops is an understatement of epic proportions. I can only imagine how may designer icons were bidding until the 11th hour to be seen being draped over these girls on this epic evening. So who were the final winners? (more…)

    No, I’m truly not obsessed with this girl (much), but with her SATC 2 premiere in the countdown of 6 days, it is very hard to stay away from her. I can’t go ANYWHERE without seeing her face. Boring? Hardly. The good thing is that everywhere I turn there is news news news about her. And this time we are not bragging about her uber success as an actress, but sliding her once again into the Fashion Designer profile slot. (more…)
