Now here is one lady that can teach us ALL a thing or two about confidence. Wow is all I can say when it comes to well, just about everything our dear Samantha says or does. But trust me when I say, this is an awe inspired wow, because if I could have her attitude, her confidence, and still look THAT fantastic at the age of “fifty fucking three” as she states, then I will be on happy girl.
Yep, her fashion and plotline definitely stole the show here. This is a girl that can wear a peek a boo dress with the best of them, and outshine Miley Cyrus on the red carpet wearing the same dress. Samantha is a character that can pull off big jewels to match her big attitude, and she just always looks incredible. Not a lot of frills and frou frou, but outfits in bold statements, with bold accents, and you have yourself a character that doesn’t let anyone step on her standards. This beaded gown you see here is one from the Naeem Kahn Spring 2008 collection, paired with a Jimmy Choo clutch. (more…)
For those of you that AREN’T Sex and the City fans, and AREN’T counting down the days until the big premiere night…(for us lowlies it’s May 27th), then please write me and tell me what you want to see on the blog and I will do my best to squeeze it in. If I don’t hear from ya though, be warned that we will be pumping up the SATC fashion scene LARGE this week. I can’t get enough of it, and feel selfish keeping my finds to myself. So while I will try and squeeze in beauty tips or other celeb spotting, my vision is akin to that of a tunnel in the fashion world right now.
Today I got wind of the ladies at the BIG (VIP Only) Sex and the City 2 premiere at Radio City Musical Hall in New York last night. And to say they pulled out all the stops is an understatement of epic proportions. I can only imagine how may designer icons were bidding until the 11th hour to be seen being draped over these girls on this epic evening. So who were the final winners? (more…)
Whether the stars were going for old Hollywood glamour, or just sleeking things back for some elegance, we saw a lot of the same looks crossing the red carpet. The weather word was that there was some wind accompanying the stars on the red carpet, so celebs and their stylists compensated by pulling things back. You can achieve these looks too, a sexy or sleek ponytail is the simplest beauty secret there is to know.
Cameron Diaz is one that takes uber cas and pulls it together with a Dior gown for some major glam. Her ponytail was pulled back with a super messy look and she pulled some bangs in the front for a very pretty face framing look. For this look, you don’t want to care *too much* when you are pulling it together. The key really is in the mess.
Miley Cyrus was another beauty queen who took the ponytail with a sleek edge. The ponytail was pulled and pin very low and she gave the pony a much more elegant look with wavy side-swept bangs. Curl your bangs first to achieve the wavy look, and then comb them back with a fine tooth comb to get the sleek factor. Pin with a bobby pin sprayed with some hairspray and you got yourself a sleek ponytail. Spritz on some shining mist to give a little extra gloss.
Anne Hathaway was a timeless beauty in her Marchesa goddess gown and she went the other direction with a ponytail that was high and accentuated her intense features. Curl your hair in long loose waves with a wide curling iron. Tease the crown just ever so slightly and then pull hair back into a pony. Anne has an extra piece pinned at the base here, which you can try too, or just go with the whimsy of the high pony if you like. This is a fun look for a night on the town or an afternoon at the mall.
Well, I saw this dress and I actually gasped out loud, so I knew I had to share it with you. Here is Rachel Bilson in a gorgeous bias-cut satin gown on the red carpet of the Art of Elysium gala in Los Angeles. Stunning as ever, she makes even the most simple look breathtaking. And why? This dress from Dior by John Galliano says it all. You don’t need to go overboard with hair, makeup, OR accessories when you are wearing a piece like this. Though, if you are accessorizing white, I personally think silver is the way to go. So simple, so elegant. Love it!
Like the look? Steal the style for yourself with these finds….
By Elizabeth and James is this gorgeous Long Anita Satin Dress. Think, old-world glamour goes oh so contemporary. This dress is done with matte silk satin and is open from top to bottom with a sexy plunging V neck and an elasticized waist. I love the ingenuity here by Elizabeth and James. The skirt ALSO is open from top to bottom, but contains a clever interior button on panel that you attach to the waist to create a sexy underlayer running from waist to hem. For more drama, the 9” wide belt is detachable and has a 12” fringe that you can sash yourself at the waist. Nope. The sexiness just does not stop with this one. One dress, so many looks. So worth the money.

You see what I mean about the ankle straps? I am drawn…These Guess by Marciano Okanarra - Women’s
are the perfect pairing with any floor length gown, and the silver really offsets the white without drawing (too much) attention to the shoes. Elegant, sleek, sexy, and oh so wearable with just about anything else! How ‘bout jeans for a night out with the girls?
