SATC 2 Fashion – Behind the Scenes With Samantha Jones

Now here is one lady that can teach us ALL a thing or two about confidence. Wow is all I can say when it comes to well, just about everything our dear Samantha says or does. But trust me when I say, this is an awe inspired wow, because if I could have her attitude, her confidence, and still look THAT fantastic at the age of “fifty fucking three” as she states, then I will be on happy girl.

Yep, her fashion and plotline definitely stole the show here. This is a girl that can wear a peek a boo dress with the best of them, and outshine Miley Cyrus on the red carpet wearing the same dress. Samantha is a character that can pull off big jewels to match her big attitude, and she just always looks incredible. Not a lot of frills and frou frou, but outfits in bold statements, with bold accents, and you have yourself a character that doesn’t let anyone step on her standards. This beaded gown you see here is one from the Naeem Kahn Spring 2008 collection, paired with a Jimmy Choo clutch. (more…)

Top Shoe Designers Prove – There’s No Place Like Home

Ah yes, when it comes to New York Fashion Week it can certainly feel like the most mystical place on earth. And while top designers were showcasing their ready to wear collections, shoe designers were showcasing the fact that shoes are just as important as the rest of the attire. And in this case, shoes were used to commemorate a very special event that kicked off the New York Fashion Week. It was the 70th Anniversary of the Wizard of Oz and top shoe lines participated in the Ruby Slippers Event at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Celebrity Spotting: Look of the Day – Angelina Jolie

angelina jolie Here you are seeing Angelina Jolie wearing a form fitting L’Wren Scott piece with peep-toed Jimmy Choos. She is with her husband at the New York City premier of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford starring Brad Pitt himself.

jolie dress A similar piece by Dolce and Gabanna is available at eluxury (psst, I actually like the dress from D & G better!) Here you have a slim fitted jersey piece with spaghetti straps and a sweetheart neckline. The bodice also contains an interior elasticized flap for that gorgeous figure hugging fit.

ralph lauren I have to apologize, I could not find these EXACT Jimmy Choos but I did stop in at my pal Ralph Lauren and saw a very similar pair. Your luck, these are ON SALE. (yes, yes, I’m gasping again). These are called the Amber Linen Heel and the shoes are actually made with woven linen and patent leather accents. We are talking a markdown of final sale price of $180 from $500. You can’t NOT get these! *sigh* Well, I can’t. Only up to size 9. DAMN.

How to Snag a Designer Bag For Dirt CHEAP

admin | Accessories, Cheap Finds, Donald J. Pliner, Handbags, Jimmy Choo | Monday, 02 July 2007

Eeesh. I hate using the word dirt and designer in the same sentence….however.  Ran across this site, and you can imagine how excited I got. FINALLY someone out there understands the trials of the wealth-challenged.  This site is called Bag, Borrow, or Steal.  The concept is GENIUS.

9435_l If you want a designer bag, but don’t have the designer wallet to go with it, borrow it.  Celebs do this all the time for Oscar nights and movie premieres.  Rather than spend the 3G on a bag, you can go to Bag, Borrow, or Steal and quite literally, rent a bag.  They have a variety of collections to choose from divided into categories (from lowest to highest):  Trendsetter, Princess, Diva, and Couture.  Here you are looking at the ‘Liza’ Satchel from the Diva Collection of designer Donald J. Pliner

This bag retails at about $500 or you can rent it for about $30 bucks a week. Not too bad.

This cute little Jimmy Choo is going to run you $60 a week, but it comes out of the Couture Collection. When you consider Choo is letting these go at almost 1K, the $60 seems pretty cool.

The site also offers jewellery collections, I know, now I am just being cruel.

I am thinking though, I would hate to have to part with the bag at the end of it all. (I mean, there might be tears) But it would be so much fun just to try it out just once.  And if you have a big wedding or something coming up or an event, maybe a reunion and you want to knock the socks off your ex, something like this would be ideal.  And hey, $30 to tote around a Pliner is pretty good, even if the two of you need to say goodbye eventually.
