Fashion Designer Profile — Teri Hatcher to Cover Mark Badgley and James Mischka

admin | Celebrities, Designer Profiles, Fashion, Handbags, In Style, Vanity Fair, Vogue | Thursday, 30 August 2007

ICONIX BRAND GROUP, INC. HATCHER If you are a red carpet follower, particularly when it comes to fashion, you have probably seen and lusted after some of the sizzling gowns created by masterminds Mark Badgley and James Mischka. These cuts are frequent guests of the red carpet, movie premieres, after show parties, and so much more. Now these two artistic geniuses are showcasing their marketing talents by putting Teri Hatcher, Desperate Housewives star on the face of their Fall campaign.

50290_teri-model-mishka-copy_122_992lo You will see Teri Hatcher in a very provocative campaign that features lingerie and poolside jaunts, all playing up to the sexy Susan Mayer, her role on Desperate Housewives. She has told Entertainment Tonight that Badgley and Mischka worked her gown for her first red carpet event, so the history with between the trio is meaningful for her.

badgleymischkabags Besides eveningwear, you will find in the Badgely Mischka line sportswear, lingerie, swimwear, footwear, fur, and fragrances as well as a huge line of accessories. Earlier this month, this design team launched their new Platinum day handbag collection that showcased a sleek selection of lower-priced candy-colored bags that sported brass hardware in the $300 - $600 price range.

You will find Teri Hatcher’s campaign in September issues of Vanity Fair, InStyle, and Vogue, but here you can catch a sneak preview.

Daily Fashion Tip — Update on Headscarves and Logo T-Shirts

admin | Accessories, Cheap Finds, Daily Fashion Tip, In Style | Tuesday, 24 July 2007

So I just want to touch base on a couple of topics that are of interest here.

First off, the Mena Suvari T-Shirt is creating a little stir because some of you are having problems locating this. Stirs I do not like, so I have made this my personal mission.  For starters, I am terribly sorry this has turned into the goose chase that it has.  I have contacted both Lord & Taylor as well as InStyle magazine on this subject.  InStyle was actually where I got the ’scoop’ so to speak, and it was as recent as the June issue, so I truly didn’t see how they would end up being so difficult to find. In fact it is, BASTARDS! They have not even had the decency to respond yet, so if no by tomorrow, I am cancelling my subscription (HOPE THEY’RE READING THIS!)  Seriously, that won’t help you now, but I just hate it when this happens.

Lord & Taylor has informed me they only carry them in-store.  I then scoured Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and Macy’s online for the shirt, no dice. (don’t worry, Bloomingdales is my Mother Ship, it was hardly work) So I looked into the company 2 Love Inc, which is the company that hosts the making and development of the charity T’s through the stars.  I can’t find contact info *yet* but I am a writer, hence expert researcher, and when I know, so will you.  I didn’t want you all to think I had left you hanging though, because I haven’t. I can’t stand it when I want to buy something and can’t find it.  So again, keep your eyes open there.

And a little note on the headscarves post.  She Complete offers a really cool kind that is a scarf that attaches in the back with an elastic.  I bought a bunch of these off eBay last week, and I have to say they are the greatest invention in headband land.  I have not felt it slip ONCE. And it’s so retro and boho, totally my look on some days, so I love the patterns. Not only, but I can wear this with so much. My $2.99 is really going to stretch with this one! lol I can’t save the pic as it is protected, but you can certainly get a look at this link of what it looks like (and there are lots out there).  Go to eBay and use the keywords “headband scarf” or vice versa, and you will get a nice selection.  I picked up about 6 headband scarves for less than $20 (yes, including shipping) and I can’t say that I could be happier.  With one a pop going for $32 bucks at She Complete, I have to say as usual, eBay is a better place to shop.

Now, if I can just keep making scoops like this, I may be able to pick up those shoes I spoke about yesterday. *sigh*
