How to Snag a Designer Bag For Dirt CHEAP

admin | Accessories, Cheap Finds, Donald J. Pliner, Handbags, Jimmy Choo | Monday, 02 July 2007

Eeesh. I hate using the word dirt and designer in the same sentence….however.  Ran across this site, and you can imagine how excited I got. FINALLY someone out there understands the trials of the wealth-challenged.  This site is called Bag, Borrow, or Steal.  The concept is GENIUS.

9435_l If you want a designer bag, but don’t have the designer wallet to go with it, borrow it.  Celebs do this all the time for Oscar nights and movie premieres.  Rather than spend the 3G on a bag, you can go to Bag, Borrow, or Steal and quite literally, rent a bag.  They have a variety of collections to choose from divided into categories (from lowest to highest):  Trendsetter, Princess, Diva, and Couture.  Here you are looking at the ‘Liza’ Satchel from the Diva Collection of designer Donald J. Pliner

This bag retails at about $500 or you can rent it for about $30 bucks a week. Not too bad.

This cute little Jimmy Choo is going to run you $60 a week, but it comes out of the Couture Collection. When you consider Choo is letting these go at almost 1K, the $60 seems pretty cool.

The site also offers jewellery collections, I know, now I am just being cruel.

I am thinking though, I would hate to have to part with the bag at the end of it all. (I mean, there might be tears) But it would be so much fun just to try it out just once.  And if you have a big wedding or something coming up or an event, maybe a reunion and you want to knock the socks off your ex, something like this would be ideal.  And hey, $30 to tote around a Pliner is pretty good, even if the two of you need to say goodbye eventually.
