Celebrity Trend Spotting – Lucy Liu in Alexander McQueen

Chrissie | Celebrities, Fashion, Celebrity Trend Spotting, Alexander McQueen | Friday, 11 January 2008

liu.jpgI am going with Lucy Liu today for our trend spotting report. Has anyone seen the new show? It’s called Cashmere Mafia. I have been eagerly anticipating this release since it’s original slated timeline which was in November. The title alone grabbed me, love love love. When I found it was airing in January, yes, I ACTUALLY wrote it on my calendar. I so miss the Sex and the City days, and for those of you that loved the Bradshaw fashion moments the way I did, Cashmere Mafia is an excellent replacement. No, noone will ever replace Carrie Bradshaw, she is a one of a kind kind of girl. But Lucy Liu does an excellent job starring in this new show by the creators of Sex and the City. You can expect to see punchy ensembles like this one, so get your drama and your fashion fix all in the same show. Here she is when she appeared on Late Night with David Letterman to promote Cashmere Mafia. Lucy Liu promoted the show in a beautiful piece by Alexander McQueen and accessorized it with an old Hollywood glam goes contemporary set of black gloves, black belt, and sexy shoes.

dress.jpgI love this strapless draped jersey dress by Yyigal. I’m thinkin’ girls night out on the TOWN for some serious damage here. It isn’t quite the same, but offers the same drapey look in a jersey fabric that won’t wrinkle. Gathered and draped in all the right places with a beautifully hemmed bubble finish. Not quite big on the color? Quite a few choices there so you won’t have to settle on pink if you don’t want to.

I am going to ixnay the gloves for this set as I don’t think this particular strapless piece merits it, simply due to the style of the dress. But I did find some pretty shoes by Charles David you may like. The sleek and contemporary
